[FamilyofGod] Update!!!

Someone recently asked me for an update on my husband's response to God's Word, essentially about answered prayer that we have all been lifting up on his behalf. I am so sorry that I have been neglectful in reporting to you.

To demonstrate to you where he is I will refresh you on where he was. It all began when God told me to remain silent because I will be witnessing to my husband through my chaste behavior in silence. So by the leading of the Holy Spirit, I did all my praying, praising, listening to and reading Christian materials, in private, mostly while he wasn't home so that I could spend my time ministering to him when he was there as a godly wife. It wasn't easy and got increasingly difficult when he came home early to see me praying. He became very angry and anti-God. He started reading through my prayer journal when I wasn't home and arguing with me about it.. The more I prayed, the more hostile he became towards the word and the more we grew apart, but I stood firm in what God called me to do, and brought my prayers to prayer sites like this one instead of a journal (that's why I had written so many, sorry). Well my husband's attitude has softened and he has even brought up God on a few occasions, even stating that he knows Jesus came to die for our sins but he is not sure what to believe because of all that is out there. Although the opportunity was there to witness, God led me to keep silent and listen. So I did, and was very supportive, while silently praying that God be the one to disciple him and to teach my husband who He says He is. The irony here is that is how God did it with me; there is an undeniable specialness when God does it this way. So our prayers are being answered, first on the inside of my husband before we see the manifestation of it on the outside.

Also our communication and relationship has been better and growing as we are getting to know one another all over again. We are slowly growing into more of what we always wanted and needed to be for one another and our family. It will take some time but God is on it!!! Amen!!!

I recently responded to an email and I felt led to share part of it here as it seemed appropriate to do so…

God does hear our prayers and He answers our cries, although it may not be in an instant He is in constant movement like the earth around the sun. We can't feel it nor can we see it, but it is identifiable by the signs of the seasons. It takes time to get through one before reaching another and through it all some days are not as bright as others. However, there is a lot going on that our eyes cannot see, our ears cannot hear, and our body cannot feel, but we never doubt that what God has set in motion is in motion. Therefore let us not doubt that our prayers are fueling the hand of God into movement. Not that we can make God do anything we want but rather that is how He has chosen to invite us to participate in what He is going to do in the lives and circumstances in which we pray for. In the process  of answering our prayers He changes us so that we are in position to receive from Him His very best so long as we remain humble and seek His face no matter what the cost.

When we continually kneel before an Almighty God and intercede on behalf of others, we are sacrificing ourselves each and every time. For prayer is not of the flesh, it is spiritual in nature, and of God. We sacrifice the fleshly desires to give up and pursue the temporal pleasures of this world that we could be engaging in otherwise. I believe that is why fasting and prayer is so important, because television, food, and many other things we can choose to fast  that bring the natural man pleasure can be a distraction from Hearing God's voice.

I again want to thank you all for your undying support and fellowship. I give God praise your all of you and I am really looking forward to meeting all of you on the other side of heaven with such unspeakable joy.

In prayer and praise,
Deborah

Oh Lord, hear my prayers and answer my cries for the marriage and salvation of my husband, Richard, our four children, our parents, our family, the Body of Christ, our friends, out leaders, our co-workers, and our enemies.

"Yet, with respect to the promise of God she did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what He had promised, He was able also to perform. Therefore also IT WAS RECKONED TO HER AS RIGHTEOUSNESS." Romans 4:20-22
