Re: [FamilyofGod] Re: send in your prayer requests

Hi Janet.

My name is Jonathan and I use to be a Christian alcoholic too. I prayed and asked God to take away the alcohol from me. I told God I wasn't asking Him to help me get over alcohol like Him and I working together could work it out. I said, If you take away 99% and leave 1% up to me I can get drunk for a week off 1%. I told Him if He didn't take the decision to drink completely away from me then I would serve Him as a drunk because I had no power against alcohol. I've been clean and sober for 24 years, praise God. He did it for me and I know He will do it for Nick. My prayers are with you both.

Jonathan

Hello,

  I am new here...

  Thank you for your encouragement to send in prayer requests.  I would like to request prayer for my 28-year-old son, who is a Christian, but who is also an alcoholic.  He has been in and out of rehab, but cannot seem to stay sober.  He is now living in an extremely dangerous neighborhood, where there are lots of gang members, in a residence with several other men who are alcoholics.  I don't think he is receiving the treatment he needs.

  We used to be very close, but his alcoholism has torn-up my family relationships, and placed a great deal of stress on my marriage.  I am extremely depressed, and find some relief in prayer, but not always.  I am exhausted from praying for my son every day, for long periods of time - he has used either marijuana, pills, or alcohol since he was 15 years old.

  Please pray that he is surrounded by God's Presence and His angels in his neighborhood, which is supposed to be the most dangerous neighborhood in the city where we are living, and that he is protected from harm - and I would also appreciate it greatly if you could pray that he is healed of his alcoholism and addictions.  His name is Nick.

  Thank you so much,

  Janet

 No prayer request is trivial.If you need prayer or support ,or if you know any one struggling of sickness, pain and depression, do post. All of us can raise them in prayer.

 Depression hits all, in different degrees. So if you feel depressed and wonder about life, don't be discouraged. Jesus Christ is risen, He is an advocate for us with His Father in heaven and we can boldly ask anything in His name and we will not be disappointed.

 We encourage you to share your burdens.

My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.--Psalm 28:7 (NASB)
