[Church_of_Christ] Doulos Meditation for April 12
#9 of 9 Passion Week. Scripture: John 20:1Early on the first day of the week
Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed
Mark 16:5-6As they entered
they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe
and they were alarmed
"Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here."
Reflection: Easter SundayDay of Resurrection. Maybe Peter was recalling this day when he wrote "
he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
" and described believers as those who "
believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy
" (1 Pet 1:3, 8). Accepting the resurrection of Jesus does not depend on weighing evidence and evaluating logically. It depends solely on whether Jesus is God Incarnate. From human perspective, resurrection does not computethe uniformity of scientific principles eliminates it from consideration. But we cannot use natural tools to examine the God-world. Access to truth in that world requires faith tools. God reveals truth from his world in the one who truststhat since he truly is God Incarnate his resurrection is real and is no problem whatsoever. If his resurrection is real we can be assured that in him, ours is also.
Prayer Starter: Father, we trust you with our lives and have full confidence that what you have done in the death and resurrection is real and gives meaning to all that we know and hope for both now and eternity itself. Thank you. And again, thank you. Amen. www.doulosinternati
