[Church_of_Christ] Re: Can you guess?
Good morning Bro Ed
you said:
ED: Had God given us abstract commands as the Ten Commands with no historical context we would indeed be left to commands. But God revealed his will historically; first in the person of Jesus, then
in the teaching and actions of the apostles and early Christians.
Clay's response:
He did indeed, and all along the way they, including Jesus, are guided by commands.
When we read the INSPIRED WORD brother Ed, I'm thinking one might
prefer to make up there OWN commands to justify their current practice or actions based on History, but I see no need for that.
Man has generally speaking drawn the wrong conclusion without direction from God and His commands.
I see God chastising man for violating His commands.
I'm not sure I have ever read where God chastises man without a violation of an accompanying command.
Have you? Share a couple with us and let's pursue your line of reasoning? You may very well have
uncovered something that I am not aware of, as if that would be hard to do. <grin>
Grace and peace Clay
