It's their hermeneutic. The Restoration Movement uses methods of interpretation, namely CENI, that is not to be found anywhere beyond the group.
There are many other hermeneutical differences, but their foundational approach to scripture is drastically different from the denominations.
Mailstream Christianity approaches the bible from a completely different angle. The starting points make a big difference.
My hope is that at some point, the CoC will take the time to understand denominational hermeneutics and doctrine from the denominational point of view. Not just find places of disagreement and revert to their own standards.
Denominations try to understand how other groups think. The Restoration Movement has always considered that approach to be anathema.
I hope that will change.
