Please explain the relevance of this verse to the concept being
addressed...
When Paul says "Do not go beyond what is written", he is refering to the
issue of self judgement and the judgement of others in evaluating the
ministry he was doing. It's a reference to keeping oneself in check
concerning your ministry and God's calling. Context means this has
NOTHING to do with the issue of biblical authority or silence of the
scriptures.
