Subject: [FamilyofGod] Greetings and Prayer Requests
As a new member, I would like to introduce myself: I am Megan. :) It's a pleasure to meet you all.
I'm going to start right out with two prayer requests.
The first is for my boyfriend Matt. He was horribly abused for the first twelve years of his life and he has a lot of emotional pain. Additionally, he has a great deal of trouble controlling his anger and worry. I pray that he finds strength and healing in Jesus Christ.
The second prayer request is for my acquaintance Deborah. She is deeply lonely and depressed. Recently, she expressed these feelings to her mom, who has suggested that she should turn to God. This is good of course, except that Deborah believes that God chooses who he saves [I agree] and that he did not choose her. She finds herself too average to be useful. Additionally, she believes that faith alone is not enough to be saved. We have given her different references that contradict her thoughts, but she still stands by what her church has always taught her. I don't interact with her directly and I don't know what I can do, but please pray for everything that she needs.

For a few more words of introduction, I enjoy the following: writing, running, singing, and acting. I am here to feel a sense of community with other believers and to strengthen my faith.
On a random note, here is a verse that spoke to me recently:
Galations 2:16- "I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness is through the law, Christ died for nothing!"
Anyways, this seems like a nice place. I hope to bond with you all soon. =]
