Ray as you know I am brillant
All I know is what I have read from scripture, NT primarily.
I am read tons of books and commentaries.
I have a docterate in "listening" to sermons.
Enough hours in Sunday school to have two doctorates in religion.
BUT I didn't know dip doodly until I turned to the word for myself and read it with an open mind, because I was teaching the greatest blessings a Ftaher could have. Two wonderful baby girls that we promised God that if he would bless us with children after we found out we couldn't have children ourselves.
I am NOT implying my heart is/was one witt better than anyone elses.
What I DO KNOW is I read and hungered for the word and wanted ONLY for Jesus to lead me regardless of what the CoC/SOF had taught.
I was raised in it, my grand Father was an elder and so was my father.
What I saw and grew up in was ABSENT of Love and was mean and bitter at anyone that wasn't a CoCer.
As I read I saw the exact opposite and read the exact opposite.
Thats what I taught our girls.
I see small groups (gentiles) meeting in their homes.
No one DOMINATE figure telling everyone what to do or believe, unless an Apostle came to town.
I see interaction "one with the other" love, sharing and caring DEEPLY for one another.
Eating together and enjoying one another.
They "LIVED" Christianity and did not "practice" it on Sunday.
They weren't into ritual and Sunday "physical" worship.
For a long time I thought I was warped and had it all wrong for no one agreed with me.
Welllllllll until I found out about house churches on the internet ALL OVER the world!
A greater number than I had ever thought or imagined!
They have it right in my opinion.
That is if "pattern" is one's goal.
But I believe we are FREE from pattern and see not even a hint, that we should be, so I can assemble either way but NOT for physical worship. The text makes it obvious to me, they assembled daily to edify one another and worship daily from their hearts in SPirit and truth,
