[Church_of_Christ] Re: To: All readers
Shawn I will only make the following comments and then will not
address it again.
Life can be a living hell as far as our experiences growing up.
I could stand the hair on your head and the groups too.
I am not proud of my past and made many mistakes.
Five years ago I committed adultery against my wife after being totally faithful for 39 years.
I was an elder at the time and resigned as an elder at Joelton but still assemble there..
I have written the details on other groups when I felt it appropriate and could help the listeners.
We all need forgiveness and the ability to forgive ourselves.
I woke my wife about 15 years ago at 1:00 am and puked on her for over an hour for my childhood sins as I grew up.
They haunted me especially at night.
We both would cry, then stop and then I would tell her another, until
I had revealed every last one of them to her. We prayed and wept until day break with neither of us going to work that day.
I cannot tell you the relief it gave me and for the peace I felt.
Sexual sin seems to me to really work on our minds more so than anything else, at least it did mine.
I wish we could be more OPEN with our young people and just share our mistakes with them and that what they are doing now was done way before they were ever on this earth and I suspect were before I came
along as well because just like them I thought I invented sexual sin.
I have often thought of going to counseling. LOL, you would think a 66 year old Christian would have it all together at that age, but alas we all know that age does help to some degree Spiritual maturity seems to be so far in the distance at times
I'm not sure that what I have said makes any sense, but I just wanted to say it and thank you for forgiving me and I pray the group will as well.
I sincerely mean that Shawn.
I pray we all will never stop trying to grow into the likeness of the Savior.
One last thing, thanks for running a site where we can all state our convictions, it is rare indeed to find such a place among CoC groups.
Grace and peace, Clay
