Posted: 01 Jul 2009 04:52 PM PDT Can't say that I disagree. There are about 400 "verses" (or "suras") in the Koran condemning non-Muslims just for not believing in Islam. The tragedy you're forewarning us of does seem inevitable. Hopefully, thinking people will think of a way to rid ourselves of the scourge of it all. The website SkepticsAnnotatedBible.com is working on a Skeptics Annotated Koran, linked at that site. I'm pessimistic, but it's possible that exposing the Koran for what it is will expose Islam for what it is and help it go the way of other false belief systems like ancient Egyptian, Aztec, and Mayan beliefs. But that could take hundreds or thousands of years and yes, sadly, in the meantime, our Constitution seems to allow their Trojan Horse to come meandering in. |
Posted: 01 Jul 2009 04:35 PM PDT I think political correctness in mushed-brained European secular societies is the real culprit in the gradual takeover. Not because they're secular, because secularism can be very intellectually robust. But like so many things, there are different varieties and the European (and to a lesser extent American) idea of "tolerance" as over-accommodation to every stupid and evil belief and practice has, in an ironic twist, left the door open for the most intolerant to usurp them and turn back the clock on the progress of modernity. |

Posted: 01 Jul 2009 02:40 PM PDT Great post. I will disagree on one point, but it is an opinion of mine not fact. I believe the reason we do not have as much islamic violence in America is not because of the separation of church and state. The real reason there is not as much islamic violence here is simply distance. There aren't any islamic nations adjacent to us or even on this side of the planet. They are simply too far away. There are not that many islamic radicals in America, but there soon will be. Church and state separation won't save us from the islamic revolution. Once one of these movements start they don't stop easily. The nazis ravaged europe, we were too far away. Genghis khan nearly took over the entire continents of Europe and Asia, but he was no where near America. It is simply the pacific and atlantic oceans that protect us from radical islam. The islamic revolution is coming to America and we will be forced to act. As their numbers increase what will we do to protect ourselves? Because of freedom of religion we simply can't ban it, but even if we did it would only fuel their fires. If we don't we could become like France which is becoming more and more islamic every day with increasing violence attributed to that. The only possibility is to either have the big war and destroy them or finally realize that islamic fundamentalism is a natural response to the other abrahamic religions. It is a rebuttal to judaism and christianity. All three need to be eliminated. There is simply no other way. That is the goal of islam, to eradicate judaism and christianity and make the world islamic. This will happen as it is in many eastern countries right now. America will eventually need to respond to this but if we wait too long we may get over run ourselves. I currently consider the islamic movement to be the most dangerous faction in the world. Worse than the nazis, worse than Genghis Khan. Bin Laden is just the tip of the iceberg. Peace will only come when abrahamic beliefs are no longer accepted. |
Posted: 01 Jul 2009 02:21 PM PDT I came across a site years ago, in the early days of the Internet, run by a lunatic who claimed that the only acceptable pronunciation was "Ya-HO- shu-ah", and that the other pronunciations were of demonic origin. He even had an embedded recording to teach you how to pronounce it correctly, so you wouldn't invoke demons. Seriously. |
