[FamilyofGod] to Danny about your prayer request
I will pray for you, and I surely know how your heart must be breaking, in my family there has been total hell, up and down, too, that drug stuff is such a temptation to young ones. In a world where "pain-killers" are the solution to every problem spiritually and physically, to develop conviction to keep going even when there are problems without going backwards, trusting Abba, is hard, since the world grows in its strength to weaken us, it seems. But, "He does not want to lose one".. "He never falters nor is discouraged". "His understanding no one can fathom". He is out there looking for the lost sheep even when they don't know they're lost, I've seen that in my own life, we must just HOPE, TRUST AND WAIT. I have a painting of a thing I saw in California, a pine tree, beautiful and glorious, growing out of a crack in a rock on top of a mountain, surrounded by little flowers also growing from other cracks in rocks. Terror is the pavement over human hearts making them seek a way to feel good, like drugs, but here is a song, about the development of faith:
On the rocky mountain high
A weed grows in a crack
It withers, dies, and makes some earth
Again, 'til there's no lack
Then seed of a gracious tree
Will find soil to grow
And it will grace the mountail well
That humankind will know
Even rocks of terror hearts
One day will take His seed
After the life and death of weeds
To provide for seed's need
And faith will grow, a mighty tree
Out of the rocky mountain
A miracle to wet the eyes
And make for heart, a fountain.
A friend send me a little hand-made card, with a picture of trees growing, and around the stump of each, was a mound of earth. When your son was going to church and reading the Bible, a plant grew, and now, it is withered, but is making earth. When the mound is large enough, that the tree can get enough strength to crack open the rock, true and enduring faith will live, and as the song says, make for your heart, a fountain of joy.
I well know the agony of watching our children fall into dangerous traps, it is the worst agony there is. Imagine Abba, how He feels about all of us. But "with God all things are possible", and put together with the scripture that "he does not want to lose one", that tells us, always, HOPE IN HIM. Praying for you and your son, with love, Louise PS would you like a copy of the painting about the tree growing in the rock, I would love to send it. It does so much for me, in moments of despair, when I look at it.
