Dennis, the bottom line to being saved is the line in the Bible that says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved." (Some translations say, "...and you and your family shall be saved.") that, to me is the promise God made to men -- to raise a child up in the way they should go and they shall return to it." Our kids may walk the paths of their lives not always practicing how they were raised, but they will return to it -- that's God's promise to God-believing parents.
Ask yourself these questions;
1. Do you believe there is a God?
2. Do you believe that His Son Christ came and died on a Cross, dying in our place for the forgiveness of our sins? (Sin requires death for committing it.) The only thing we have to do is to claim His death in our place -- believe that He died for our sins.
If you answered "yes" to those two questions, you are saved. You, probably, as I have many times felt that "we get what we pay for" in this world and believing Christ's death covers all our sins seems to be too simple for the payment of my sins!
Just try and relax and believe what Jesus said....He died for you personally. That's all there is to it.
Many times churches cause people to "go forward" to be saved by using fear tactics and that's so sad. I call that "condemnation preaching". It should be outlawed!! I, as a teenager, went forward after deciding Christ was the "lesser of two evils" -- I sure didn't want to be associated with the devil, so I chose Jesus instead. it was as I grew that my faith increased over the years. Praise God!
I wish you well in your growth in faith. And, as I have shared about many things on this subject, be wary of churches. If the Holy Spirit gives your head/heart a nudge when the preacher says something that causes you to doubt or be confused, research it yourself. Get a good Bible concordance and research it yourself!!
Get a copy of my book -- please! -- God caused me to write it for the walking wounded and because of all the garbage being preached (as prophesied in the Bible to happen in these Last Days). "Right...And Turtles Can Fly!" go to the publishers website and type the name of my book into the search bar. www.publishamerica.com/books/3421 When I edited it, I found myself saying, "Wow! I didn't know that!" -- so, God wrote it -- I just pounded the keyboard for him!

Hi, can I say a little word? Ok Thanks. All this talk about end times has brough fear
to me. I get started on u tube.. See many diff. things. The fealing I get is like when I was
young and the church would preace repentance, About hell and they put the fear in us to get saved!
I for one want to be ready. How can I know for sure. I find myself looking at my faith differently.
Its time.

Oh, I'm fine. I understand where Patricia is coming from with her message. But I'm not 'fed up'.
She is right that God is not the author of confusion. But I think confusion comes from not staying on God's path. Staying in His Word & being in Prayer with Him is so vital.
That's why I'm glad I found George's group.
While Obama is the name of the person holding office, he is still prophecy unfolding.
A lot of 'babes in Christ' don't understand prophecy & end times stuff. Those easily can bring confusion, especially if we don't stay in the Word.

George thank you for allowing me to join the group. For the most part I have enjoyed praying, encouraging and being encouraged through the Word of God. I too will be dismissing myself from the group. It seems that there has been a bit more confusion these past weeks than when I first joined the group some months ago. God is not the author of confusion. People are hurting, the world is not getting any better and it is not because of Mr. President. True prophesy is fulfilling itself everyday, no doubt about that, regardless of who is in office in whatever country or nation. Prayer is the key to changing things if God permits---pray without ceasing. Let's not forget, that the Word of God expicitly warns us against judging others. The Word of God also instructs us to LOVE, each other, our enemy, whoever...We have to love, love, love. While I am writing, let's not forget "Thou shall not kill" either with the sword or tongue. Praise God for you George and the FOG. I pray that we will all be ready when Jesus return. We are working out our own salvation with fear and trembling. I know that I am. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of my faith, Patricia |
