Shall I Resolve
Shall I Google the word Christian to learn that "Seventy Six Percent" of Americans call themselves Christians. Shall I then resolve to not use the label as a convenience, or a means to an end. Shall I resolve to live it, and not just speak of Gods grace. Shall I resolve to be slow to anger, and careful to judge, tempering my spirit with the quest for righteous justice. Shall I resolve to know deep inside that my sins are no greater or no less than the those who sleep in cold polluted hovels or pent house apartments. Shall I resolve to know when it is time to speak and time to listen.
Shall I resolve to walk past, and not buy, the rags called journals as I check out at the local market. Shall I resolve to recognize just because someone has the "right" to speak or write profanities defaming another, that it must be so. Shall I resolve to change the channel when the talking heads on the cable spew out their venom, cough up their poison, and rip another's soul into oblivion with their vexing smiles and razor sharp tongues for the sake of money. Shall I resolve, and have the courage to, turn off reality programming when reality has been supplanted with evil in disguise.
Shall I resolve to love God with all of my mind, all of my heart, and all of my soul. Shall I resolve to accept his words as his personal gifts to all, and not just those whom I believe are worthy of them. Shall I resolve to recognize that all belong to God, even those whom I may want to spitefully distain. Shall I resolve to not compare myself with others finding myself wanting and wishing. Shall I resolve to accept the place that God has placed me on this planet called Earth. Shall I resolve to find the wisdom to know when it is time to stand, time to kneel, or time to prostrate myself before him. Shall I resolve in the most fervent hope that others may find value in such resolution.
