The Philippines is one of the countries put on tsunami alert. We aren't in immediate danger (yet) but we've been told to keep watching the news. It's the coastal areas and provinces on the eastern side of the Pacific ocean that are at risk. A lot of my friends in the surf community are from that side of the country. We were actually on the Pacific side just yesterday for surf. And over dinner friends started ringing us to tell us to watch the news, turn on CNN and then, if it was possible, for us to get out of the area. So we told all the locals we knew so they could get ready and also for them to spread the word in their neighborhoods. Then we packed up and made the drive down to Manila.
Watching the news now, waiting for word on how big the tsunami is when it hits their coastline.
