me too George, i was brought up in a strict southern baptist church that believed anything you did wrong could send you to hell. i believed that and tried to do my very best to not do anything wrong. well i discovered God would forgive us if we asked him to. anyway there were a lot of things i was taught as a child that i found out were not exa tly right. i went to a lot of different churches along the way and realized that none of them had the whole truth.

That's good Shelley. We should all have that attitude. Iv'e been a christian for about 35 years and I'm still learning every day. I'm also unlearning many of the things that I have been taught. A lot of them traditions are not from God and I have to let them go.

Jesus was of the lineage of David. He didn't take flesh. He was born of the flesh just like you and me. That was the beginning of his existance. When it says, "the word became flesh" that means that Jesus spoke and portrayed the word of God.

That is not what the bible teaches. It says nothing about believing in his divinity to be saved.

Actually this dialoge started about 300 years after Christ. They took this dialoge to the different councils and finally made the trinity doctrine law. If you disagreed with this doctrine you were excommunicated or executed. We should learn to know God and His son now because if we follow a false christ and a false gospel we may not even get there untill the second resurrection of jugdement. Like Jesus said, "This is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

My Jehova Witness friends speak just as you do. I guess it is a different belief system, just like that of my philosopher friend.
