Dear Shelley,
You need to realize that all the writings about Jesus in the Bible as historical facts are written by Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, years after the Crucifxion. We see Jesus as sent by God and we know Jesus will come again to judge on the Judgement day.
In many chapters in the Bible we see Jesus speaking the words that Father gets the glory., without Father Jesus cannot do any thing , so on. At the same time he speaks to the crowd directly as in the following passage of his own greatness.
John 10: 24-30
John 10:24-30 (New Living Translation)
24 The people surrounded him and asked, "How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly."
25 Jesus replied, "I have already told you, and you don't believe me. The proof is the work I do in my Father's name. 26 But you don't believe me because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, 29 for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else.[a] No one can snatch them from the Father's hand. 30 The Father and I are one."
Here we see Jesus showing a distinct identity , but proclaims that He is the one who can give eternal Life.
Luke 10:22-24 (New Living Translation)
22 "My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."
This inter-relation of the Father and the Son , along with the Holy Spirit, is the base of Trinity
. Jesus is to be worshipped because, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."Jesus is the only begottenSon of God who will reign over the everlasting kingdom.
Philippians 2:9-11 (New International Version)
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
So dear Shelley , Jesus is to be worshipped as the Son of God, who takes away the sin of the world . He lives & reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Personally, once you feel the presence of Jesus, you become a new creation. It can be only felt once you cannot with Jesus through prayer. Try it and feel the amazing peace that comes over you. So basically it is through prayer that youexperience this spiritual world of Trinity.

Dear George,
There is no question about God being more than One George.
The Holy Spirit is His Power and Jesus Christ is His Son.But the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is called the Trinity. These three are One force , with Unity . God strengthens us through the Holy Spirit and makes himself known through the Son. This indwelling ( or the interaction) of the Father , the Son and the Holy Spirit is called Trinity.
People like Tom Harpur predates the Son of God before Christ's birth and says it originated from paganism, some goes to the extent of mixing together Horace and Jesus as one. Whatever the theories are, Jesus Christ, was not a mere man and we ascribe Godliness to him because He said "whosoever believes in me have eternal Life. You and I cannot say this to others.Because we are not just Jesus, we are not the Way, the Truth and the Life.In His name we pray, because He said "Ask in my name and it will be given. "God sent His only begotten Son for us to have cleansing from sins. It is that interaction of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, that we refer to as Trinity. Who ever exhorts His name , Jesus' name, will be exhorted at the Throne of Grace . It is written.

I'm not affiliated with any denomonation. I could be called a biblical unitarian though because I believe in one God as stated all through the bible.
In Christ, George.....
