Delight in The Ways of The Lord
"Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways." (Psalms 128:1). It is great privilege to know the ways of the Lord and walk in them isn't it. We read about king Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 17, the Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the ways of the Lord like his father David. (Now the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David; he did not seek the Baals, 2 Chronicles 17:3).
Bible says Jehoshaphat' s heart took delight in the ways of the Lord (And his heart took delight in the ways of the LORD; moreover he removed the high places and wooden images from Judah. 2 Chronicles 17:6). He became increasingly powerful (2 Chronicles 17:12) and the surrounding nations did not war with him because the fear of the Lord fell upon them (2 Chronicles 17:10).
If we delight in the ways of the Lord, our God will make us powerful, not carnally but spiritually. And our God will make all those surrounding us to be in peace with us. (When a man's ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7).
We also read the Lord established the kingdom in his hand and he had riches and honor in abundance. (Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah gave presents to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance. 2 Chronicles 17:5). Bible says, "Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:4,5); and "wait on the LORD, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land." (Psalms 37:34).
Let us see how Jehoshaphat delighted in the ways of the Lord. First we see he sought the Lord God and walked in His commandments (but sought the God of his father, and walked in His commandments and not according to the acts of Israel. 2 Chronicles 17:4). The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he sought and walked in the ways of the Lord (2 Chronicles 14:3).
Our Lord Jesus Christ says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33). Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. (John 14:23). Yes, for the Lord to be with us, we need to seek Him and walk according to His words. Bible commands us, "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." (James 1:22).
Then we see he sent his leaders, Levites and priests, to teach people about the Book of the Law of the Lord. (So they taught in Judah, and had the Book of the Law of the LORD with them; they went throughout all the cities of Judah and taught the people. 2 Chronicles 17:9). Also, he went to the people who have gone astray and brought them back to the Lord (So Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim, and brought them back to the LORD God of their fathers. 2 Chronicles 19:4).
Our Lord Jesus Christ has commanded us, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28:19,20). And "Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." (Matthew 18:14).
Jehoshaphat delighted in the ways of the Lord, by seeking Him, walking in His ways, teaching people the ways of the Lord and turning them back to the Lord. And the Lord delighted in him and was with him, protected him, made him powerful, made everyone peace with him, gave him riches and honor. Dear brethren, by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us delight in the ways of the Lord, experience the presence of our Lord all the time, be filled with the power of Holy Spirit and be prosperous in our ways for the glory of His name.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14)
And the LORD said to him: "I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built to put My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. (1 Kings 9:3)
Now if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments, (1 Kings 9:4)
then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, 'You shall not fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.' (1 Kings 9:5)

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and I could say, "I used everything that you gave me."
