I believe secret prayer or prayer in the secret place is the most valuable. When we pray in secret He rewards us openly. That time we spend alone with God is most rewarding.

i don't have a place like that here too much activity all the time, thats why my desir is to be some where else. back home i would go to the river and set and watch the waves in the water. i love the water when you set and watch all of the different creatures and how they go on about what they are doing in such harmony. God lays out such a beautiful canvas before us and decorates it with such an array of colors. i am amazed sometimes at how everything goes on the only interuptions are when man comes into the picture.

I agree with this, Amanda.....I have a spot in the woods close to my house it is at the edge of high cliff that looks over the most peaceful and beautiful scene... I go there and just talk and listen and sometimes cry but always leave peaceful no matter what is going on in my life..............I keep a prayer journal and that is a great way to look back and see the hand og God working in your life.......I very much believe in just talking to God and all day as I go through the day.............I need to get back to spending an hour in prayer and study before bedtime again, have gotten away from that........so thanks for this Amanda , I will stop putting that off........Judy P.

For me - prayer is a conversation. It isn't just one component. It is time for talking to God as well as listening to God. It is sometimes full of joy but it is also sometimes full of tears and cries for help. It isn't just talking.

When I was younger, I went with my family on vacation to Enid Lake. There was a cabin that overlooked a ravine. It was beautiful. Early one quiet morning, I woke up to the smell of coffee. My family is full of coffee drinkers. I found my dad out on the balcony. I asked what he was doing. He told me he was listening. And asked if I heard it too.

Listen in the midst of the quiet for the voice of God! I try to live my life as a prayer.

So, this is supposed to be a group of prayer. So, I was thinking --

How do you pray? What IS prayer to you in the first place? Is there a way to truly "pray continually" or "pray without ceasing"? What does that even mean? What are things that hinder our prayers?

If we are a prayer group, then -- let's discuss prayer!!
