HUMOR OF THE DAY:
Heaven and Hell

A nurse dies and is greeted in the afterlife by Saint Peter. He tells her there's a policy of allowing people to choose whether they want to spend eternity in Heaven or in Hell and she can spend a day in each before making a decision. The nurse goes to Hell for the day where she meets many old friends and colleagues in a sunny garden. They take her for an excellent dinner, and she even meets the Devil, who turns out to be pretty decent. Next day she spends a day in Heaven where she sits around on clouds, sings, and plays the harp. When Saint Peter asks what her choice is, she says, "Well, Heaven was nice, but I had a better time in Hell. So I'd like to go there please." Her wish is granted and down to Hell she goes. When she get there she finds a desolate waste land covered in filth and her friends, dressed in rags, collecting garbage and putting it in sacks. The Devil walks over to greet her, and the nurse says, "How could this place change so much in a day. Yesterday it was like paradise." The Devil smiles and says, "Yes, but yesterday we were recruiting – today you're staff."

Election Day is Tuesday, and our country is at a crossroads.If we put wise, godly people in office, we have a shot at some wise decisions being made. It is in our power to elect humble statesmen-servants who understand our Constitution and agree that the purpose of government is to secure the unalienable, God-given rights declared in the Declaration of Independence. They will interpret the Constitution's stated legitimate governmental categories of: "To form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity…." in a way that fits with our Founder's obvious belief in personal responsibility and reliance on God. They will not foolishly squander our resources by trying to be God to the people or fattening their own purses.

The government's ability to detect and control negative influences is only as good as the worldly wisdom and spiritual discernment of the officials we elect to office. Sadly, since prayer and The Bible were removed from public schools in 1962 and 1963, (an example of government's discernment and wisdom), many of our politicians, educated in those schools, have little knowledge of God's Word, and their personal ethics are an embarrassment! But, We the People can change that in our elections.

"But I'm not into politics!" we may say. "How can I know what these politicians are really like?" We must find out. We can learn as a family. Our freedom and ability to enjoy the Blessings of Liberty depend on it.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:
You Are Somebody Special to God!

You are so special to God.In fact, you are His treasure!He considers you the most valuable of all His creations.

In Psalm 8:3-5, the Psalmist is reflecting on the greatness of God and writes:

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained:What is man that thou art mindful of him?and the son of man, that thou visitest him?For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor.(Ps. 8:3-5)

God has crowned you with glory and honor!YOU are God's prized possession!You are more important than all His handiwork.And you need to see yourself in that light.

You are not that old man anymore if you are born again.The very divine nature of God is within you and the blood of Jesus flows in your veins!You are of a royal family in the spirit realm!You have a crown on you that can't be seen with the natural eye, but you can walk in that honor because you are highly favored by God.

Knowledge Is The Key
There are some people who do not receive victories in their lives because of such low self-esteem.Jesus said that we are to love one another as we love ourselves.There are people who hate themselves and hate their lives.They don't like anything about themselves.How will they love someone else?

A low self-esteem is a result of a lack of knowledge.But when you know you have been crowned with glory and honor, then confidence will spring up in your inner man, and you will have the courage to face anything.Many Christians are living way below their privileges because they don't know that they are highly favored of God.So, they don't expect good things to happen.

Revelation knowledge will cause you to see yourself the way God sees you - crowned with glory and honor!He sees you highly favored and successful in everything you set your hand to do.When you truly believe that God has crowned you with glory and honor, you will take authority over adverse circumstances in your life and expect God to turn adversity into victory!

Doubt and insecurity will vanish as you become more and more conscious of God's favor in your life.

In John 12:26 we read, "If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be:if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.If you have chosen to serve Jesus - then the Father will honor you."

Expect victory in every situation simply because you know that you are the object of God's affection.Receive God's love for you and see yourself as His prized treasure - because you are!
