Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matthew 7:13,14).
, "That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day" (2 Timothy 1:12) and "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Philippians 2:3-4
These verses take a lifetime of self discipline. For most of us, put ourselves before everyone else, "our rights" our "thinking", our "opinions" are the right ones. WE have forgotten how to be a community of believers that could work together. It is not important to point out our differences, or to point out each other's faults, it is important to point each other to Jesus.
It is important that our actions and deeds show the love of God to those around us. Indeed this is our strongest witness, for the way we act and speak shows whether we are really surrendered to God and filled with His love. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Whatever you focus on, whatever you live for, whatever your trend of thought is, this cannot be hidden, it will show up in your actions, deeds and words.
We are the only Bible someone reads.
My dad used to say a little poem:
"What kind of a world would this world be
If everyone in the world was just like me?"
Food for thought my friend. For most of us are selfish by nature, self focused, and usually dwelling on our problems, our families.
Yet these verses clearly challenge us to think about others. Not only to think about them, but to help them, and be interested in how they are doing, or if they have a need. WE are to be about our Father's business. When Jesus was here upon earth, he ministered daily to everyone He met! It only stands to reason that the more we are filled up with Him, His presence, His words, His guidance, the more we should be ministering to others.
It is a well known fact, that the easiest way to forget about our own troubles, is to minister and to help those in need. There is always someone worse off, and we need to care about them, and help each other through these times. It is what Jesus taught, and we must be obedient to that cause.
What is your point here on earth? What are you about? And are you happy with the results?
When we give, we receive. It's called the law of reciprocation. What we sow, we reap. We need to get off our chairs, get out of the house, and go help those who need it. We need to speak words of kindness and love. Listen to those in pain. Don't think, well my situation is worse.. just listen. Then pray. Give of what you have. Share of what you own. Give money to ministries that are truly working for God. Don't withhold from those you know that need it. God has commanded us to minister to each other, and the time is short.
Life is not a dress rehearsal, it is the curtain call. WE are here now and what we do is what we will account for.
Are you mercenary or a missionary?
Are you a soldier for the Lord, or a person living for themselves?
Choose this day whom you will serve.
Remember
Only one life, will soon be past
Only what is done, for Christ will last.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14)
