I am so sorry to hear, Shelley.  And yes it does seem like a great waste.  Maybe though it's good you broke up with Bryan now until maybe after you got married.  Not that you were necessarily planning anything, it is good to find out the true colors of someone.  I will pray for God to heal your broken heart and send you someone you can truly love and care for and maybe settle down with at some future time.
