Clay: Ed, you Sir are JUST WRONG! No one is saying that the Lord's day is not the First day of the week! What everyone is saying, is THE EARLY CHRISTIANS WERE "NEVER" commanded to assemble on that day for worship or for any other reason! . . .
ED: There is no doubt I have been wrong before, in fact many, many times. But I don't believe this is one of them.
- "church" when translated means assembly - there is no greater expression of our being the family of God than when we are assembled together to praise God and edify one another.
- "house of God" was an OT name for the temple and is used of the NT assembly to instruct us as to what our main purpose is when we are assembled: worshiping God
