That is what scares me Gerry. I too believe these guys have for so
long benn "told" what the scriptures say from youth up, they honestly
cannot "SEE" the holes in their positions.

"IF" the church had followed the "instructions" Paul laid down in
1 Corinthians 14:26 ff that we would NOT be in the mess we're in.

When one MAN has the "power" to stand in an unapproachable pulpit, with no one daring to even think about rising in turn to dialogue
the text with him, as Paul taught the church to do (when they came together) he is pretty much free to say what ever he desires to say
to enforce his instructions.

Here is his comments:

It is primarily a plea for religious unity based upon the Bible. In a divided religious world, it is believed that the Bible is the only possible common denominator upon which most, if not all, of the God-fearing people of the land can unite. This is an appeal to go back to the Bible; It is a plea to speak where the Bible speaks and to remain silent where the Bible is silent in all matters that pertain to religion. There isn't so much as ONE" thus saith the Lord" in all the New Testament to assemble on Sunday to worship God. Not even ONE to edify one another on Sunday. The fact is Romans 14 makes it obvious to those that "bother" to read it, makes it perfectly clear followers are free to assemble on any day they choose. We are not to be divisive with others that assemble on Saturday and not Sunday.

This is just ONE point that is obvious to me at least, not to mention several others that are never COMMANDED in the scriptures that we are divisive over. If we sought UNITY as Bro Baxter states based on THUS SAITH THE LORD commandments there are FEW we would be divisive with as I see it.

What bothers me is there are many followers in ALL MOVEMENTS that never even opens their bibles and they are at the mercy of the ONE MAN that lectures them for 30 minutes every Sunday.

I believe that is EXCATLY why we are soooo divisive. Not because the bible teaches it, because Pulpit Preachers mislead followers by "throwing in a little extra proof" every now and then such as we follow only THUS SAITH THE LORD

The TRUTH is much of our doctrine is developed by turning examples of a freed peoples into law and not because of a THUS SAITH THE LORD.
