Paul's point in this passage is this:
"Don't gather in your own churches and let everyone believe what they want to believe. Don't let people choose their own doctrine and follow whatever they want. Get together and agree on what I have already taught you. Come together united on sound doctrine that I have shared with you.
I'm rather lenient compared to Paul. He knew nothing of what you do at Joelton, and I think even our statements of faith would have been tame for him.
Plus, anyone denying the trinity would be turned over to satan, something Paul did with those who reject sound doctrine.
I wouldn't turn you over to satan.
