I do not agree. The faithful godly men that I look up to today are worthy of my
respect and attention. There have been many such men over the years. My faith
needs their diligence.

I agree, we ALL need one another. My  faith needs everyone's diligence certainly

not just one grouping of individuals that you wish to exalt. They aren't inspired Ray.

May (certainly not all) have persuaded US to listen to them and not the inspired.

 

You see Ray, I believe, there's that word again, I "believe" we all need to minister

to ONE ANOTHER.

 

Let me show you what the scriptures teach concerning followers interaction

with ONE ANOTHER. (see below)

 

Personally I believe we have turned our assemblies into a "ritual physical" worship

similar to Temple worship, in order for God not to strike us dead  (physically then spiritually now) if we fail to get the "physically practice" correct.

 

Why Ray is this the unpardonable sin? Why doesn't Grace apply to those you

disagree assuming you are correct? You and others that hold to this belief

to the point of LAW remind me of what Jesus said to "legalist" of His day.

 

Matthew 23:13
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are

trying to.

 

 I just do not see the NT ever placing an emphasis to the degree that we do on an

assembled Temple type physical worship.

 

Temple worship was the shadow of what was to come.

 

God made each individual His Holy Temple under the New and better Covenant.

 

My understanding is we no longer worship God physically with rites and rituals and

careful procedure in buildings made with hands led by Holy Men.

 

1 Corinthians 3:16
Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

If any man destroyeth the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and such are ye.

 

1 Corinthians 6 

¹⁹ Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own;  ²⁰ for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.

2 Corinthians 6:16
And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

 

Ephesians 2

 ¹⁸ for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.  ¹⁹ So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,  ²⁰ being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone; ²¹ in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord;  ²² in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

 I believe worship now occurs in the individuals heart where God reigns

by His Holy Spirit the NEW Temple of the living God.

 

Now if God's Holy Spirit brings us truth, then apparently we NOW assemble for other

reasons than for a physical worship, we now are commanded to worship in spirit, NOT

PHYSICALLY but in spirit and truth .... we have forgone both the spirit and the truth.

The Hebrew writer makes it obvious the Holy Spirit's message today

and we assemble to EDIFY and to build one another up. Heb 10

 

We do that by ministering to ONE ANOTHER in love.....

 

Read how we are to INTERACT WITH ONE ANOTHER

 

Love one another: John 13:34-35; 5:12, 17; Rom. 12: 10; 1 Thess. 4:9; 1 John 3:11,14, 23; 4:7, 11, 12; 2 John 1:5; 1 Peter 1:22
Love one another to fulfill the law: Rom. 13:8
Increase our love one for another: 2 Thess. 1:3
Abound in love for another: 1 Thess. 3:12
Love each other deeply, to cover a multitude of sins: 1 Peter 4:8

Have fellowship one with another: 1 John 1:7
Forgive one another: Eph. 3:13; 4:32; Col. 3:13
Greet one another with a holy kiss (an embrace in some cultures): Rom. 16:16; 1 Cor. 16:20; 2 Cor. 13:12; 1 Peter 5:14

Bear one another's sufferings: 1 Cor. 12:26

Serve:
Serve one another with the gifts each person has received: 1 Peter 4:10

Bear the burdens one for another: Gal. 6:2
Wash one another's feet as a sign of humbly serving: John 13:14

Encourage:

Edify:

Edify one another gathering together each one with a hymn, a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or its interpretation: 1 Cor. 14:26

Give spiritual care:
Confess our sins one to another: James 5:16
Pray for one another: James 5:16

Act with humility:
Honor one another: Rom. 12:10
Be of one mind one with another: 2 Cor. 13:11; Rom. 12:16; 15:5
Do not criticize one another: Rom. 14:13
Do not speak bad one of another: James 4:11; 5:9
Submit to one another: Eph. 5:21
Be clothed with humility toward one another: 1 Peter 5:5

Live in harmony:
Have patience one with another: Eph. 4:2
Live in peace one with another: Matt. 9:50
Receive one another with hospitality: Rom. 15:7; 1 Peter. 4:9
Glorify God together: Rom. 15:6

So Ray you see you have a lot of teaching to do with me.

I love dialogue. YES, I have actually changed many of my past understandings.

 

But not by ignoring the word, but by godly men that has helped me to better

understand WHAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN.

 

BUT if they teach division in the body of Christ as you seemingly do, I really don't

have a lot of time for them. Teach me unity of the Spirit through a bond of peace

and a love that TRUMPS doctrine.

 

That is unless through the word you can help me see where love is secondary

to doctrine and unity of the Spirit isn't such a big deal.

 

I sense you favor "godly men" that claim Super Natural gifts above "the inspired word."

 

Drive me to the word Ray? Challenge me to better understand "the inspired word"
