George: I know what it means to be "content" but what does "agreeing to disagree" mean?
Ray: The whole point of my post was to say that miracles accomplish something of their own BECAUSE you were denying this fact.
George: No, I wasn't. My claim was that miracles, more specifically the supernatural gifts of the Spirit, served a greater purpose than whatever "something" it was they may have accomplished "of their own" and that purpose has been fulfilled for the past two thousand years.
We know this by our common acceptance of our Scriptures as being our ultimate and final authority in dealing with any and all spiritual matters or questions we may have regarding God and Christ. In other words, simply put, we agree that the Bible is right. We do, don't we? Let's at least get that part out of the way. So, if anyone were to speak as the oracles of God, he no longer needs the support of a miracle from God as a "sign following" that God is with him. He merely opens a Bible and reads or points. The existing Bible is miracle enough of the oracles of God. So, no, I'm not denying what miracles accomplish at all. In fact, I'm upholding the idea that they already accomplished the greater purpose of identifying the doers of the miracles as having been sent by God and God being with them two thousand years ago and we have the words of their message and doctrine written in our Scriptures.
Ray: When you said SO WHAT to Jairus' daughter being raised, I realized that you were admitting that miracles accomplish their own ends.
George: If they have "ends," sure, why not?
Ray: Since you had previously denied this, I took the challenge.
George: We had a misunderstanding. I'll assume the blame. Thanks for taking up the challenge. It helped the both of us and God knows how many others.
Ray: Now you admit it, I'm done.
George: I'm admitting that we had a misunderstanding. I'm even taking the blame for it. I'm not admitting that I was mistaken. Are you still done?
Ray: And by the way, God does NOT show up where there is love... Because There will only be love if God shows up. Selah, Ray
George: It was meant to be a figure of speech. You're right, though. God comes before the love. But for those of us who can't see God, since God is Spirit and no man can see Him and live, we can at least see love and can know that God "shows up" where there is something we can see. But, you're right and I'm not afriad to tell you when you are.
