When Moses' staff turned into a serpent and ate two serpents, many people may have believed. But even if they didn't, two serpents were still eaten.

Jairus' daughter got up from her death bed. Even if no one ever believed that Jesus was sent from God, Jairus' daughter lived on.

I could go on with every miracle in the bible starting in Genesis. Miracles accomplish something BESIDES convincing peole that God is with the doer of the miracle.

Let's demonstrate some real power, shall we? How about giving a man who has never stood on his feet the ability to pick himself up and walk? That's the power of God!

Your best dogdge ball yet. The point still remains that the leg is healed...regardless of distance.....and the man was walking again. and for the record, it's the power of God whether you throw yourself across the body (see the OT incident) or you speak the word from a distance....it's still all God.

That's what I said......and no, provin to unbelievers that God is with that body is not a function of the gifts except by accident. Don't bother me with 1 Cor 14:56. That tragically abused scripture is a cessationist's idol.

Of course we do. Cessationists don't like the FACT that supernatural gifts and miracles actually accomplish things. It undermines their ability to keep God out of the 21st century.

But He still shows up for those who accept the promise.
