A lot of things "ceased in the first century."
Miracles are only one thing.
Why get hung up on that one?
Who was doing all the miracles after the Jews returned from exile to rebuild the temple for the coming of Christ?
Who was doing them after the fall of Jerusalem?
Seemingly, something else besides demon possession and the unleashing of Satan, has come and gone.
Maybe I'm wrong.
May God have mercy.

What I have decided is that the doctrine with which I grew up, that "we know" miracles ceased in the first century, is not a truly defensible position.
