[Church_of_Christ] Re: Holy Spirit ministry
Ed,
It appears we are at an impasse. I have not yet posted the final two sections of your original post, but I suspect there is no point in doing so now. However, I did want to reply to some comments here.

Dictionaries are limited. And the writers of them are biased by their own theological positions. Besides that, Vine's does not contradict my position. As I said before, you are bringing your view of 'revelation' into the discussion. You have made no effort of any kind to defend it. In fact, you appear to believe it is unnecessary to defend it.
Unless you can prove that revelation always means KNOWLEDGE, you have no case.

As long as you refuse to deal with the nature of revelation itself, nothing will matter.

Ouch, Ed. This is the most revealing statement yet. It is also why the restoration movement hermeneutics are vastly different from mainline Christianity. As long as you assume revelation means presenting intellectual information, you will never be able to see your error regarding spiritual gifts.
So we are indeed at an impasse.
Ray
