Of course you were. The text is simply the writings of the apostles. When you try to present a point, the interpretation is YOURS, even if you are correct and aligned with God's intent.

The I Cor 1 passage has nothing to do with denominations, not even close.

The argument you are trying to make is forcing 21st century circumstances into 1st century thought. It's a joke to consider that Paul's words are a response to the modern concept of denominations.

Division is NOT wrong. Jesus Himself came to bring division.
It is the TYPE of division that makes the difference. And they TYPE of division referred to in I Cor 1 doesn't have a counterpart in any other century. Nor could it.

Yes, that is YOUR point, it isn't Paul's point. It isn't the point of SIGNS. It isn't the point of denominations.
