I have already posted my reply to your original response to my post on gay marriage (isn't that confusing!?), however, I don't know if it has come through yet because I am apparently still being moderated as a new member.

I can't help but wonder if this statement is aimed at me since you again bring up pedophilia and beastiality which are the same two practices you raised in your response to my post. If your statment is directed at me, it grossly misstates and misunderstands my original post and I would kindly ask you to go back and review what I wrote. In no way did I accept either of these practices. In fact, I didn't even mention them; you brought them up. Do not pin support for them on me when you brought them up. I also did not endorse homosexuality and I did not endorse the idea of gay marriage. I merely made the point that arguing in the political arena against gay marriage may not be the best use of church energy. Please do not make my post into something it isn't in order to tear it down.

There is also a hint of judgmentalism in the way you make your point. Imagine how you would react if someone made the comment: "that's why we have followers of the Christ thinking instrumental music and female pastors ain't really all that bad." Now if you would carefully read what I've written, you would see that I do not endorse any of the three acts you mention. I am merely exercising my freedom not to engage in the political process with regard to gay marriage and my conscience is clear in this regard. Do you deny that I have that freedom? As for my post in this group, I am only trying to engage in dialogue as anyone else does. Was Beth's posting of the George Veith quote not for the purpose of sparking dialouge? I don't expect any one on this board to change their mind because of what I wrote. I posted fully knowing that I would probably be in the minority on this board and I can handle it if people disagree with me on the merits of the issue I presented. It is not necessary to make my post into something it isn't in order to disagree with it.
