It seems like my soul can never stop running around in circles. One second I am praising God and all His glory, and the next I am driving myself crazy trying to solve all of my problems and issues. Recently, I preached a sermon on spiritual battles. I mentioned that we tend to forget that Satan is real. We think that all of our struggles are just in our heads and that there is something wrong with us, when in reality Satan is just digging at our hearts and souls and amplifying the struggles that we do have. I was preaching to myself just as much as I was preaching to the congregation.
What an amazing God we have. Regardless of Satan’s constant pulling at our hearts, we have a God who will never let us be crushed by him. Satan is just a dog on a leash who has to ask permission from God to do anything. He may be able to annoy us, but he can never destroy us. Never forget this. It may save you from pulling your hair out. *For some really interesting insight on spiritual warfare, read “The Screwtape Letters” by C.S. Lewis. You can read it online here. Photo courtesy: twog.
