Hi Brian, 1st, Homosexuals are people, and having been made in the image of God are entitled to be treated respectfully and with dignity. This equally true of all who sin, regardless of the expression their sin takes, whether its homosexuality or something else. Ignoring sin is not the loving and respectful thing to do. We cannot express our faith in God w/out taking a firm stand on a moral issue. We can no more refrain from taking a stand on homosexuality, than we can adultery, lying, fornication, idolatry, witchcraft, murder or drunkeness, etc. (Mat 18:6) "But whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea." Legalizing this would contribute to the stumbling block set before those who chose this form of sin. I'm not advocating that we organize and start a movement, but we do need to recognize that simply standing aside in silence is not an option. Jesus went to the house of Zacheus, and (before He got to the ruler's house) perhaps the house of Matthew the tax collector - hard to tell from the text- in Matt 9, it was a place where publican and sinners felt free to come and go, Jesus said He'd come to them as a physician to heal them, not to share in, spread, support, or promote their disease (sin), nor did He remain silent on the issue of sin. Jesus invaded the world of sin (our earth) and acted the activist on the part of sinners. But His agenda was clearly not to give a platform for sin to be spread. But rather, by His actions, and words, to contain and destroy it. Yours in the Great Hope, Scott P. Wiley a sinner saved by grace, Clay City, IN swileyusa@yahoo. Blog: http://scotthere. A new Decalogue has been adopted by the neo-Christians of our day, the first word of which reads,"Thou shalt not disagree"; and a new set of Beatitudes too, which begins "Blessed are they that tolerate everything, for they shall not be made accountable for anything." - A.W.
