Shelley, You have about gone through the hard detoxing days. Hubby says it takes about 10 days and you should start feeling better. My hubby and I have been clean from all types of drugs. Me for almost a year and him for 2 1/2 years. You can do it through God Almighty's help. Just keep seeking Him in prayer and through His Word. He will help you! He did me!

thank you so much amanda i was on way to much lol 10mgs a day of ativan then i did a taper on valium all the way down to 10mgs 3 times a day and then quit but not before taking a bunch 2 dayz before i started detox, so i dont know exactley how much im detoxing from ,chills so, bad i fainted, i cant eat much or drink much at all lost alot of wieght, dripping in sweat breathing hard and so on..~shell 8 dayz? how much longer for these symptoms?~shell

There's no easy answer to that question. It depends on several things -- the way your body metabolizes medications, how much Valium you were on in the first place, and how you got off of it. Did you taper off (which is advised and the best way to reduce withdrawal symptoms) or did you stop taking it cold turkey? Both will have different weeks of detox. It depends on how much is in your blood stream.

Detox is ONLY the time period that it takes to get the stuff out of your system, which really is relatively short compared to other things. Withdrawal symptoms will continue for a time depending on the things I listed above AFTER detox is finished. Valium is made to reduce anxiety. It isn't unheard of that your anxiety levels go up after getting off a drug that is meant to keep them at bay. That is normal. It's what you should expect.

You have to learn to deal with the anxiety behaviorally speaking during all of this no matter how long the physical symptoms last you.

Hi family, look im getting very discoureged here, its been 8 dayz detoxing, im still so sick with withdrawal and going nuts with anxiety, someone please find out for me the length of detox from valium as i cannot get to the docters please?I need somekind of reasurance this is going as it should. does anyone know about this?Thank you, responces would be appreciated! ! ALOT!!!~shell
