[Church_of_Christ] Re: "PATTERNS" are they to be physical or spiritual?
Bro Cole said:
I see... So you think it goes back to the 1830's and their founding fathers and the principles of restoration? Maybe this has to do with the difference in restoration and reformation. Others before them (Calvin, Luther and Wesley) didn't set out to restore the church, but to reform the church that they were already in. Although their legacy lived on and became new denominations.
Clay's response:
Wellll it appears to me Bro Cole the restorationist had good intentions. They wanted unity and they though and worried and
freted over division and how to SOLVE IT.
They/We resolve division by STOP being divisive, thats how we resolve it, stop participating in it.
That's what the scriptures teach isn't it?
That's what Paul taught the Corinth church in 1 Corinthians 1:10ff
STOP IT!
That's what THEY restorationist should have both taught and practiced.
NOT make up some PHYSIACL WAYS that they all could unite around and
agree on. Just agree not to be divisive and cut one another lot's of SLACK in love and ALL OF THEM avoid sins of the FLESH.
As I see it those are the only SINS we can commit today.
If not what are some I ask?
What other Command can I possibly violate "IF" I love God and
Neighbor?
Romans 13:10
Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
I am wondering Bro Cole IF it is this simple to grasp and understand
WHY we can't see it? WHY?
Well for one thing all we could do when we assemble is to resort to
group therapy by encouraging and edifying ONE ANOTHER.
What on earth would the Pulpit Preacher have to say, well CoC/SOF
preachers, why they may have to saddle up and "GO" preach the Gospel.
I do not mean that to be ugly.
But it should be obvious as I see what is reasonable.
Grace and peace Clay
