Hi Valerie,
There are so many posts in this group. My question was a serious one. Muslims call our attention to the fact that God asked that Abraham sacrifice his firstborn son. We know that the firstborn son of Abraham was Ishmael, not Isaac.. But we know that Abraham was about to offer Isaac as the sacrifice. Is there something in Hebrrew / Jewish law that would have made Isaac the firstborn, instead of Ishmael?
I was just taking a chance that someone in this group might have a good answer to that. Obviously, God did not make a mistake. Did Abraham or is it our misunderstanding of Hebrew law of that time?
{As you know, I have studied the Scriptures for many years - but I have never found a GOOD LOGICAL answer to that situation.}
Do you think that this is the right place to ask about it?
Thanks,
RogCat

Muslims claim, actually, that Ishmael was actually Abraham's first son - to whom all blessings should have been given. Did God make a mistake?
