I suggest you go back to high school. Be sure to take some science classes there. You can learn a lot from classes in biology, physics, and chemistry. It'll be hard, but you can do it if you put your mind to it.

Oh, and, by the way, all that religious stuff will just hold you back. Just listen to your pastors. Do they advocate your getting a good education? What do they ask you to spend your time doing? Ask yourself what they want from you.

I don't pretend to understand a criminal mind, nor would i understand a criminal mind that hides behind religion.
I am just sad that someone like that is incapable of feeling anything.
But you ask "who would gain by her understanding?"
My response would be no one, she would suffer internally.
But as you pointed out, she probably doesn't have any feelings so there would be no sorrow.
Which is more depressing....

My problem is somewhat opposite to yours. I'm living here in communist China thirsting for a face to face confrontation with some Christian nutts.

Though, from time to time, I do find the occasional foreign missionary, or the local Christian who is toying with the Chinese version, "Christianity Lite."
Needless to say, I jump at the opportunity for a confrontation.

However, it seems like your are completely surrounded by Evangelical idiots. What would happen if you just came out and told everybody (especially your family members) that you're an atheist and that you categorically reject the Christian religion? What if you started wearing anti-christian symbols (see my moniker above) Would they tar and feather you?

I think you only have two choices: 1) Let everyone around you know in no uncertain terms that you are not buying into that Christian bullshit and that you don't want to hear anymore about it, or 2) get the hell out of there.

You're welcome to come to China. You can earn decent living here teaching English and proselytizing is illegal.

I understand your position. I just can't imagine a cannibal would be capable of such feelings. Most criminals never accept responsibility much less one like this. She's far past self responsibility.
Besides, who would gain by her understanding?

You may not feel you are articulate but you made your point, figured out how to communicate on an unfamiliar system and didn't let me change your position. You are your own person.

I am can't reply directly as there is no reply button (I wonder if this is a glitch?)
Anyways, i am not upset at all by your response, i am happy to be corrected or faced with a differing opinion.
You are right when you say rehabilitation should be only for those that -can- rejoin society, however, i think while she is sitting on death row she needs a good reality check.
Otherwise she will never be sorry for what she has done, she will always blame this deity and never take responsibility. Sorry i am not very articulate, however i just feel she needs to take responsibility for her own actions that is ultimately what i want from her, to admit it was not this "devil" that is was just her acting on her own. Otherwise where is the self responsibility?

I understand your position but I respectfully disagree. Leaving her to die after what she did would be more humane than she deserves.
There is no way to compare leaving a heinous criminal to die and one who has killed and cannibalized their own infant child.
I think rehabilitation should be preserved for people who may be returned to society and there is no way I would let a cannibal free to mix with actual humans.
Only animals eat their young.
Sorry if my opinion upsets you.

Perhaps i did not explain myself properly which is my fault entierly, in no case do i mean i am going to forgive her, I do not preach forgiveness, All i said was if we left her to die after she stabbed herself, we would be no better. But then the sadist in me thinks it is better she didn't die so she can have time to suffer while she is alive for what she has done. (because after all, death is what she wanted, because it is easy)... I am sure other women in jail do not take kindly to mothers who cannibalize their own children (which is where she will be heading) I still believe she needs proper psychiatric help. Because she has negated all responsibility by saying this devil is at fault, she needs to fully understand that no one buys her story and she cannot blame anyone else but herself.

I wouldn't make that age assumption, I've never met a single jah worshiper who could use the English language in a reasonable way. That religion clearly stunts a persons mental growth. I had the unfortunate incident of living with jah freaks for a number of years all the while trying to help them.
They pretend to be innocent and childlike. They are actually quite inconsiderate of others who don't share their beliefs. They use the word love like a tool and never pull their own weight. A free ride is all they're after. They want respect but they never offer it to others who don't share their beliefs. Bums and losers for the most part. I'm sure there are a few good ones but the question is where?

"Truth", in the sense of an unchanging, objective truth, is a rather nebulous concept that will probably continue to recede from our grasp. I'm not going to waste My time with Ultimate Truth when I can create a far more fulfilling existence using a custom subset of the available data.

Well, we don't know of such a being. Obviously your hypothetical god doesn't want anything to do with us.

"Jesus saved us while we were still sinners. God loves you."

Oh, the unsupported assertions! "Jesus" is an unproven being that may be entirely fictional, may be a real historical person, or may be a fictionalized real person. Nonetheless, "Jesus" did not "save" anything. One simply cannot utilize the glorified and mythologized killing of one being to erase the past bad behaviour of other beings.

And before you say 'God loves you', you must first produce empirical evidence for the existence of such a being. Your statement is no different than Me saying "Saraswati helped Me do My taxes last April."

Keep looking, Sakinah. There are far more sensible truths out there.

A being that supposedly drowned virtually everything on the planet, and ordered the genocide of the Amalekite people and a few other tribes, as well.

A being that, we are told, refuses to forgive us unless we rejoice that its allegedly "sinless" only son was sacrificed on our behalf.

Seriously, Jahsgirl, I would not trust a god like that if I were you. Please give this matter serious consideration.

A 3 1/2 week old infant!
SHE ATE HER OWN CHILD!!!
Then like a true coward, tried the easy way out, through suicide.
I"m sorry but I cannot share your sympathies.
I hope her future includes a long slow ride in the electric chair.
That is what it is for and I rarely say someone deserves such a fate, but this woman is as low as a human can get.

U'r website is (pardon) a godsend, u don't know how much help u are doing to yourself and others. I can't believe that u have the courage to speak out against illogic and tyrrany. I don't think u disrespect the God who created u - if he is real then he wouldn't need to beg for respect. What mechanism is involved when it is said "he gives u the air to breathe every single second of your life." Nice poetry, albeit mispelled. u can ask for mercy but you won't get an answer. Soon before its too too too late, that is a threat, you know. I wouldn't repent if I where you. I would sure pray for you if I thought it would do any good; but I think you need reasoned arguments instead. I don't think you have a prayer of getting any good arguments. Just shame, threats of damnation, and ineffectual prayers, u know.
