I thank You Lord that in Your Word You command us to pray continually (1 Thess. 5:17). And You have promised that when we ask we will receive (Luke 11:9). Yet there are times when silence seems to be the answer to our prayer requests.
Lord we know that You wouldn't tell us to pray if You were not going to respond. In fact You have pointed out that any father who loves his children gives them what they need and what is good (Luke 11:11-13). As our heavenly Father we thank You for we know that You will provide so much more.
We thank You Lord that we have a right relationship with Jesus Christ by trusting Him as our Savior and that we have chosen not to live in ungodliness even after our salvation. For You have spoken and Your Word stands that if we regard iniquity in our hearts You, Lord, will not hear us (Ps. 66:18). However, this does not mean that we can never make a mistake, because You, God, understand our frailty, and grant us time to repent of all know sin and to avoid continuing in it. Knowing this Lord, we pray, that You would reveal to us if there is anything in our lives or our hearts that is getting the way of Your answers to our request so that we may repent and turn our hearts to do Your will.
Lord, we thank you for Your Word and Your Holy Spirit that enables us to make the right requests, reminding us to ask according to Your will as it is written in 1 John 5:14. We thank You that we can share our desires while submitting our hopes in You, God. We thank You that You will direct our hearts like a watercourse wherever You please (Prov. 21:1), so that when we make our requests we can be sure You will answer for they are aligned according to Your will.
