Sis, I appreciate the compliments. ..but please give the glory to the Lord, not to me. I'm just His messenger and comforter in human form, one who's been through the psychiatric "system" and found it terribly void of all things Christlike! I've wrestled all my life with depression and such, Shelley, and I never entered this "system" until the year 1993 when I admitted two things to myself: 1. I had backslidden from God and wasn't turning to Him to heal me from the inside out of my past child abuse; and 2. I had a problem with chronic depression, anxiety and anger and needed help somehow in order to come to terms with them. It took me twelve long years of going through the psychstuff to realize that Jesus was the only way, not my inner self or the man-glorifying advice of other people. Granted, I know that God has a place for a small segment of such treatments but I honestly don't believe that they are to SUBSTITUTE the movement, power and working of the Holy Spirit, the whole counsel according to His holy Word and the fellowship of other Christ-centered believers. Xanax and self-talk therapy were like small bandages covering a wound that went deeper than just what met the eye...and I'm just glad that I found this out early enough to return to God and serve Him, not just with my lip service but with 100% of me. Shelley, I love you in Jesus' name! :-)
