"In your arrogance and ignorance you assume you are right and everybody else is wrong. If you figure wrong you are going to have a very bad day."

Ah, a cop-out response to opposing views against your petty religion. Ignorant people try to prove their claim w/o providing any back-up information.

Also, your Bible says ALL men will be saved.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have ALL men to be saved..." (I Tim. 2:3-4).

According to I Tim. I have nothing to fear. You're following man's tradition, and if the God of the Bible exists, it is YOU to answer to Him.

"If you figure wrong you are going to have a very bad day."

And if you figure wrong....

Let's just say I hope for you Allah has a sense of humour.

Yes, it's probably much the same as the imaginary friends some children have. To those kids these imaginary people are very real.

And then there are the celebrity stalkers who sometimes get it into their mind that they have a relationship with the object of their desire. We only hear about the unhealthy outcomes (e.g. the stalker of Jodie Foster and attempted murderer of Ronald Reagan), but no doubt many more people have such fantasies but manage to keep it within bounds.

And of course, a *lot* of people imagine they have a personal relationship with a god. On the bright side, a nonexistent god can't really become a victim of such imagined friendships as real people could.

I suppose it's all fun and games, until someone can no longer discern the difference between reality and phantasy anymore. That's where the problems begin.

Peter.

In your humility and knowledge you say you are right and unbelievers are wrong. If you figure right you are going to have a very good day.
Baaaaaa You've strayed from the flock. Go be a good little sheep and have a good day in the sheep pen.

Read your bible from cover to cover, and then read it again. Great examples of arrogance.

Bad Religion is brilliant. The lead singer Greg Graffin has a doctorate from Cornell University. How many bands can boast that fact about their lead singer!

Peter_NL:That's assuming that, somehow, she isn't mysterically attracted (opposites attract?) to a supernatural tooth doctor and longs to spend time with you

Well Peter, in that case I would resort to using my ToothFairy pliers (see my picture) and remove everyone of her remaining teeth.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't understand a toothless-word she had to say, after such an operation.

"If you figure wrong you are going to have a very bad day."

And YOU will spend your entire life trying to please someone who does not exist so that when you die you can go to a place that's not there.

Better to stop the praying and tithing and do something to make a positive difference for someone else. And when you are dying, you will know the world is a better place for your having lived. This is all we can hope for after death.

Peter_NL:You ever had an ISO9000 quality audit? If not, you won't even *begin* to understand the meaning of a 'bad day'

Actually, I know exactly what that feels like [g]
It surely must be the brainchild of some corporate "fundie" to have invented this PITA standard.

"I had this most horrid passing thought go through my head."

There's this old saying amongst sailors.... "any port will do in a storm".... ;-)

"2. Get as far away from Susan as I possibly could, and live alone without another human to interact with."

That's assuming that, somehow, she isn't mysterically attracted (opposites attract?) to a supernatural tooth doctor and longs to spend time with you. In that case, you could try to run, but you couldn't hide.

And there's always the option of euthenasia. Euthenasia of whom, I'll leave that in the middle. (wink wink, nudge nudge)

"How ironic an Xian would use the word "reality" as part of their
name."

It's all doublespeak and doublethink. Reminds me a bit of the fact that, any country with 'democratic' in its name, probably isn't. E.g. German Democratic Republic.

"In your arrogance and ignorance you assume you are right [...]

Wrong.

If someone is arrogant and ignorant, they *know* they are right, not some softy 'assuming'.

"If you figure wrong you are going to have a very bad day."

That's ok. I'm used to having bad days. You ever had an ISO9000 quality audit? If not, you won't even *begin* to understand the meaning of a 'bad day'.

Reality5, I'm not too worried about guessing wrong on Pascal's Sucker-Bet Wager. The vast majority of gods from human mythology are simply *not* into eternal punishment. (I, Myself, would be positively insulted if one of My acolytes ran around insulting people's intelligence in such a manner, and would probably afflict the miscreant with a dead car battery or something equally fixable.)

And I certainly can't have a worse day than you're currently having. If you must believe in a divine buddy, at least give it some credit for not being a flaming @sshole like you.

You can do anything in your own mind. Imagination is a useful thing in this case.

How can you have a 'personal relationship' with anyone if it's only based on 'faith'?

ATF, I'm voting for # 2 ! Hey, you could always hope to find a soccer ball like Tom Hanks did, and paint a face on it.....much, much better than stiff Susan !

summerbreeze:..Susan Hutchison....overly perky, arrogant, high on themselves, so "good" that your teeth would rot out just standing next to them from sugar shock

While I was watching Susan in that video, I had this most horrid passing thought go through my head.

Based on that old saying, many often use, just for one millisecond I tried to imagine what my life would be like if Susan and I were the very last 'couple' left on this Earth.

Would I then:

1. Suck it up, just to have company with another "human being".

2. Get as far away from Susan as I possibly could, and live alone without another human to interact with.
(Much like the character in that old scifi movie, "Robinson Crusoe on Mars")

ATF (Who thinks if god really made us a hell, it would be having to live alone with a person like Susan, for all eternity)

Aversion is the word I use. I've had it for years though and it has gotten easier to tune out in a lot of circumstances- not all, but a lot. However, it is a good song. Thanks for sharing.

I have occasionally dreamed in ASL. Not often, but sometimes. Keep in mind, it is not my first language, because I'm not deaf, just a little hard of hearing. lol

Anyway, as for listening to an Evangelical, I have never been able to listen for more than a few seconds and then I tune out or if it is a video, TV, or radio, I turn off. Just to avoid hearing them on the bus, I have my Ipod so that I can tune them out and not hear them. I have never been able to stand listening to them. As a child I couldn't do these things, except maybe tune out mentally, but now I can leave mentally and/or physically. I really can't stand listening to them, not for very long at least.

Somehow I managed to get thru the video ( don't ask me how ) but I did have my handy barf bag near by. When I was a christian I knew many women exactly like Susan Hutchison....overly perky, arrogant, high on themselves, so "good" that your teeth would rot out just standing next to them from sugar shock, and finally = THEY HAVE ALL THE CORRECT ANSWERS ! .........Her impersonation of Richard Dawkins ( can I use the B word on here ? ) made me wish I had one of those foam bricks to throw at the screen....or maybe a REAL brick !

You can never " deal " with people like her. Never. I just hope the people of Washington State can wade thru the bullsh*+ and see her for what she is.
