Re: A letter from Hell- ExChristian.Net - Articles Posted: 24 Oct 2009 07:09 PM PDT Cipher--thank you SO MUCH for saying this. I've been drawing the parallel between Biblegod and Hitler for quite some time, pesky Godwin be damned... oops, not DAMNED damned! And you're right, of course: biblegod is after a lot more people (like, all of the human race) than was Hitler, and he tortures them for eternity. The worst crimes of every human dictator, mass murderer and serial killer can't begin to approach the sheer level of evil attributed to the monster that is biblegod. I just posted this to my facebook with this legend: " Happy Halloween! Remember, god's the scariest spook of them all--he's designed HELL, a kind of eternal concentration camp which resembles a cross between Auschwitz and the Spanish Inquisition, except it goes on FOREVER. Eat your hearts out, ghosts and ghouls!"

Re: The Story of a Recent Doubter- Testimonies of Ex-Christians Posted: 24 Oct 2009 06:37 PM PDT John21, Yes I've considered that hell isn't a real place for torture, just as heaven isn't a real place for rewards. Yes, I know the bible can be made to say that hell is real, or that hell is actually just death, or as you say, that hell is just a place apart from god. We all know that this bible can be made to support lots of ideas. Heck, it's like Burger King, in that one can "have it your way" If this wasn't true, you wouldn't have all these xtian sects on this planet. Of course, gravity can be shown to be real, but god and the devil and hell and heaven, can't be. No, god won't answer you, because there is no god to do so. If he does answer you, then you've reached the point of total delusion I'm afraid. If you want to know more about jesus not being real, start with these two websites, but there are many others as well. www.jesusneverexisted.com www.truthbeknown.com ATF

Re: The Story of a Recent Doubter- Testimonies of Ex-Christians Posted: 24 Oct 2009 06:17 PM PDT Hell, funny concept really. First of Romans 2:12 "For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law" So those who do not know god will certainly not perish in hell just for that. And have you considered perhaps that hell isn't a place god sends people but a place where people who refuse god must go? Kind of like a natural law like gravity you know? Would you please give me an example of Jesus being a jerk or something? Might I also ask if you opinion of his existence is based in research of simply random though? Sure I wonder why he doesn't act in the world the same way anymore. I also wonder why he made us, and why he allowed the fall to happen. he doesn't answer to me however and I don't think someone who created the very laws by which we exist would make any mistakes.

| Re: The Story of a Recent Doubter- Testimonies of Ex-Christians Posted: 24 Oct 2009 05:57 PM PDT john21:Christ was a lover, he loved people Sure he was.... That's why jesus invented the whole concept of sending non-believers to roast in his hell fires. There are plenty of examples of his earthly actions/words, that show he wasn't about 'love'. Of course, this assumes that he really existed in the first place, which in my opinion, is highly unlikely. | Re: A letter from Hell- ExChristian.Net - Articles Posted: 24 Oct 2009 05:51 PM PDT Let me get this straight. God creates/designs a good creation. doesn't work out the kinks and teenagers still kill themselves in drunk driving accidents (Remember Josh, you wouldn't be in hell if you hadn't gone drinking and driving!) but it is this poor kid Zack's fault that god doesn't love his children enough to save to save them from Hell. Zack has to love his friends enough to preach to them about something he can only believe while god gets off the hook for not loving his children enough to keep them from roasting? |

Re: A letter from Hell- ExChristian.Net - Articles Posted: 24 Oct 2009 05:28 PM PDT Usually my sister sends me little christian poems written on rainbows or she describes how "powerful" she felt at a child's baptism. . . annoying but harmless stuff like that. I ignore them. I couldn't ignore this scare tactic aimed at kids. It disgusts me. (So naturally, I had to share it with all of you. ha.)

Re: A letter from Hell- ExChristian.Net - Articles Posted: 24 Oct 2009 05:20 PM PDT augusthovel said, "But, I guess, I grew up more interested in hell (my reasons were obviously morbid) than I was in heaven." I think we couldn't help but have a morbid curiosity in hell. My mother regularly told me I would be going there: when I didn't practice the piano, when I yelled at my sister for tearing up my homework, when I lied and said I had homework so I could stay in my room and read and avoid my crazy mother. . . If an eternity in hell could come about for such mild infractions as these, there was no way I was going to avoid it. Also, heaven seemed utterly unappealing to me--except for the flying part. Always wanted to fly.
