Re: The beginng of the end for my belief- Testimonies of Ex-Christians Posted: 25 Oct 2009 06:55 PM PDT I'm sorry to heard about your story. I couldn't tell you if there is a god or not. But I can only tell you that the way of Christian interpretation of god doesn't apply to the truth. You shouldn't blame on anyone because it's just a human behavior. Life wasn't come easy. Your treasure memory with your friend should make you cherish your life.

Re: Trying to Keep the Baby Without the Bathwater- Testimonies of Ex-Christians Posted: 25 Oct 2009 05:39 PM PDT Chris, I struggle with something similar; the craving for transcedence yet repulsed by Christian dogma. *If* you think you might be comfortable with Christianity that is non-fundamentalist, yet would perhaps be a door to the transcedent experiences you've had, try reading books by Marcus Borg. He is a non-dogmatic liberal Christian, but takes mystical and transcedent experience seriously.
Re: The Eternal Life Oxymoron- ExChristian.Net - Articles Posted: 25 Oct 2009 05:09 PM PDT Mark Twain in his last two books : The Mysterious Stranger & Letters from the Earth, explored what heaven was like: A CRASHING BORE. Very FUNNY. All Xians should read both, then cast aside this ridiculous notion that they will be forever happy in la la land. Or, forever being tortured by their loving god.

Re: Kissing the Devil- ExChristian.Net - Articles Posted: 25 Oct 2009 04:25 PM PDT paulforjesus...... " you are on Satan's side "....HA!...YOU are exactly the type of person that I was talking about ! ! ! FYI...there is no such a thing as " god " ( sorry )...there is no such a thing as satan ( sorry ) all 100% MAN MADE. The bible was written by BRONZE AGE MAN--100%. I could go on and on, but it's late now and frankly I'm tired of trying to talk sense into people who are wearing blinders, and are happy to do so. But I can't pass up this one thing. " All murders, violence, child abuse, and every evil thing originates from Satan "....REALLY ? Have you ever read your bible ? Really read it ? The bible is positively soaked in the blood of thousands of innocent men women and children ! ALL CONDONED BY YOUR GOD ! ! Babies bashed against rocks, bears set upon children, rapes ( just make sure they're virgins ! ) incest, ( daughters sleeping with their FATHER ! ---how nice ! ) Abraham taunting his own son with death till " god " says whoa, I was just TESTING you. And you think this crap is wonderful ? ? Please walk, no RUN, to your nearest Mental Health Clinic paul !
