[FamilyofGod] Praying???
F.G. brethren, I'm in between two very important engagements at this time but figure I'd pause long enough to "drop" you folks this message now at 9:47 AM Hawaii Time/1:47 PM Central Time while I have the opportunity to do so. I just wanted to share with you folks some thoughts that crossed my mind while I was riding into town on the HandiVan bus. As I recalled how my pastor had encouraged us in the CC/Honolulu family to not only pray for one another but also know WHO is faithfully and daily praying for us, especially during times of discouragement and heartbreak, I couldn't help but wonder to myself, "Yeah, just who is praying for me faithfully and daily anyway, whether things are going good for me or not? Are the ones God is using me to minister to assuming that just because I seem strong in Him almost all the time I don't have as much a need for intercessory prayer as they do? I know that Jesus interceeds on my behalf before the Father in Heaven whenever Satan accuses me before Him but, humanly speaking, who is my faithful prayer warrior?"
My beloved ones, if each of you can name at least one brother or sister in the faith you know who's definitely praying for you and not just TELLING you that he or she is doing so, who would you say it is? You don't have to answer this question because I'm just giving each of you something to ponder and bring before the Lord. I believe that we all need encouragement at one time or another because we're all leaky vessels in need of spiritual renewal--and that includes those of us who are in leadership positions in the Church such as pastors and ministry leaders. Please remember to let the one you're praying for know that you are praying for them rather than just assuming that they know about it already and, thus, don't need to hear it anymore. You just NEVER know how God will use your words of prayerful encouragement to lift their spirits up! Take care, and God bless you'all always! As soon as my jam-packed schedule opens up more, I'll read the postings that came in so far within the past couple of days and respond to some of them in a God-glorifying manner.
