You betcha, guy!! It seems that's all I do anymore....I should have been a preacher, maybe. <G> Well, I was called to the pulpit when we began going to the church of a pastor we met -- the most humble-before- God person we have ever met and he never preached denominationalism, just God's word straight up! -- and he asked me to "cover" for him when he had to be gone. Then, congregational feed-back, I guess -- he started having me share while he was home, on occassion. That led me to write my book, "Right...And Turtles Can Fly!" for the walking wounded (because of all the garbage being preached as Bible prophesy tells us it would in the Last Days.)When I edited it, I found myself saying, "Wow! I didn't know that!" Bethany, what you sent about the Rapture was far too lengthy to "reply" to so I am giving you my opinion here.
YES! There will be a Rapture. Jesus promised the believers in Him, this side of the Cross, that He would spare us "the wrath to come to the whole world." He was speaking of the coming Tribulation time. The Bible tells us that we will be "caught up" to Him in the air/clouds (depending on what translation you read.) (1Thess. 4:17) Notice that He doesn't "touch down" on planet earth when this event happens. It also tell us that when He physically returns to earth He will come "with all His saints" (1Thess. 4:13) -- and then we will rule with Him during the Millinium. Notice the word "all". We can't come back with Him if we aren't taken from this world to be with Him. The Tribulation population on earth at His physical return (with us) is to end the worldwide war that will have come to happen. Armaggedon
Notice the Scriptures that speak about two that will be sleeping -- "one will be taken and the other Left" -- two will be working -- "one will be taken, the other left." Left for what? The Tribulation.
Also, another Scripture that is missed by many is 1Thess. 2:7 and 8. "For the mystery of iniquity is already at work...." (the sinning being committed all around us is this "iniquity") "...until He who is the obstacle..." (to sins being committed out of control) "...is TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY." The Holy Spirit is the only one that is the obstacle to sin running rampant.
Jesus promised that the believers in Him would never be alone -- and He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us all to fulfill this promise. At some point, the Holy Spirit will be "recalled" to Heaven/"is taken out of the way" and will then work with the people of the world as He did prior to Christ's coming to die on the Cross, from Heaven. If we didn't go with the Holy Spirit, we would be alone and Jesus lied -- AND WE KNOW HE DOESN'T DO THAT!
Verse 8 -- "Then shall the Wicked One..." (the Antichrist) "...will be exposed, that one whom God will consume with the spirit of His mouth and shall destroy with the revelation of His coming." read on....
I really feel sorry for those who claim to be "experts" and preach God's word falsely!
