I wouldn't call that nothing -- that is still something. Everyone is different. Don't knock how you do things. If it makes you happen and feel at home, then isn't that all that REALLY matters? What kind of meal do you order if you order something, Shelley.

Thanksgiving for me -- If you came to my house -- you would see this for the meal

--Turkey (cooked in the oven after being brined for quite a while)

--Mashed Potatoes (I am making them this year)

--Cranberry Sauce (which I have made every year since I was 7 or 8 - no it isn't from a can. :) )

--Traditional cornbread dressing

--Giblet Gravy

--Green bean bundles -- wrapped with bacon (which I make every year and I have absolutely perfected over the last 10-12 years of making them -- they are marinated in Italian Dressing and spiced with dill, celery seed, fresh ground pepper, and salt.)

--Dirty Rice

I have no CLUE what dessert is this year. I really don't know. Most of my family loves coconut -- I hate it. I won't touch anything that is coconut flavored. I just cannot stand the stuff. Ha! I think there will be a coconut chess pie for the coconut lovers -- and something else for me. Yeah, I get my own dessert.

As far as what you would see -- not alot of TV watching -- but it's a WHOLE bunch of talking and visiting and being in the kitchen together. It's fun. I love Thanksgiving. And, I have been doing Thanksgiving with Ravi's family for the last 3 years -- finally I am able to be here with my own family for the first time since 2006. I am thrilled!
