Santa's Prayer
The sleigh was all packed, and the reindeer were fed
But Santa still knelt by the side of his bed;
"Dear Father," he prayed "Be with me tonight.
There's much work to be done and my schedule is tight.
I must jump in my sleigh and streak through the sky,
But I know that without You my reindeer can't fly.
I need to visit each household, before dawns early light,
and cover the world, all this in one night.
With sleigh bells a-ringing, I'll land on each roof,
and I'll listen to the clatter of each tiny hoof.
Now to get in their homes is the difficult part,
So, I ask you to place me in each children's heart.
And although I'll have toys,to grant some of their wishes.
It's Your love that is endless, like the loaves and the fishes.
I'll try to fill stockings,
with little bibles and tracks.
so when they open their gifts,
they find Your love from my sack
But, I can't do these things, Lord,
unless I do them through You!
So bless me Dear Jesus, then it's easy to do.
All this I must do, so I can honor the ONE,
Who was sent to redeem me, God's most Holy Son.
So, please let Your creation embrace the real truth
That this days not about me or my red wooly suit
It's all about You, and the price that You paid
For you hung on that cross
for all the mistakes that we made
So Jesus, please help me,
to do this thing right
and let Your creation,
worship You on this night".
Signed Santa
