Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matthew 7:13,14).
, "That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day" (2 Timothy 1:12) and "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16).

Subject: [FamilyofGod] Advent
This is the season of advent. Yes - I realize not everyone celebrates this season. Yes - I realize even some think it is wrong to do so. For a moment - ignore that or put that aside.
Advent means "the coming of". Some of us are waiting for the advent of a new job with great anticipation and hope. Some of us may be waiting for the advent of something else. The Jewish people were waiting for something much more extraordinary. They were waiting for a Messiah. And he came - not dressed in miraculous clothing - not descending from the clouds in a grand entrance - not coming out on a red carpet with trumpets playing.
Instead - he came as a baby where animals ate and slept. He lay sleeping peacefully, quietly, unknown to most around - as a baby in a stable. No grand entrance. No trumpets. No red carpet. And for the most part - totally unnoticed until years later. Do you stop to think that the very thing they were anticipating came in an extremely unexpected manner and most didn't even realize it?! They weren't expecting the messiah to come like that!
How many times has God acted in your life in such a "small" manner that it went unnoticed? Do you expect God?
