[FamilyofGod] IT IS FINISHED
IT IS FINISHED

These words echoed through the clouds as rain and lightening scoured its path. It seemed my GOD, HIS GOD had forsaken Him. A sinner, like me, held on another cross had yet believed in Jesus' might and power. This simple man had said, "Remember me, when YOU come into HIS presence!" At the foot of God's Throne he will spend all eternity in gratefulness for merely believing the words he'd heard.
"IT IS FINISHED!!"
Rained down from the hills as He was carried away to an unused proffered grave for burial. Hidden tears in the rain shielded hurt and disbelief as haste was made to 'finish' High Holy Day preparations, against the rules for the dead. Ointments applied and grave cloths were wrapped for preserving of a loved one's body. With the tomb empty, except for Jesus, strong men lovingly rolled the stone in place. (thunk!!) Then forlornly, hopelessly, walked away.
"IT IS FINISHED!!"
Angels heralded the stone's rolling back to show to the world its bareness to those who yet did not believe, they couldn't possibly conceive, that such a plan "SUCH A PLAN"??? God meant it all the time??? It hasn't gotten through to you that you were in this plan? That God had loved the likes of you, me and as well as any man. He needed a way to draw you and me back to stand before HIS face So HE covered "YOURSINS" and "MINE" with "RIGHTEOUSNESS" With HOLINESS left over. Did you understand my friend?
"IT IS FINISHED!!"
Now, just wait up! You say it's done? He planned it from the first? Before HE set the stars in space or created this entire human race to spit into HIS eye! Oh, yes! He knew the rottenness in man. It came from giving us 'free will' which HE wouldn't take away. You see, HE is LOVE, and HE needed LOVE from you but only willingly. He had multitudes of angels sing His praise upon Heaven's mountains their voices would raise. But me? For Me? A special invitation? Of course!! All you need do--accept it--for you see
"IT IS FINISHED!!!"
John 19:30--"When Jesus therefore, had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost."
The complete story of the crucifixion and resurrection is in John chapters 19 and 20.
Remember
Only one life, will soon be past,
Only what is done, for Christ will last.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14)
