Re: [FamilyofGod] Re: Pondering something...

Craig,

May God bless you! Thank you so much for breaking this down for me and for reminding me of these things. You definitely right and I will mark these Scriptures in my Bible.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24)

Hi Lashanda

You are not unique, and with God there is always hope - 2 Peter 3:9
"9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."

In my opinion, God is more interested in intention, or motive, rather than in action. We are all on a journey, and should not despair when we are on the way, but should rather look forward to our destination. With God, the destination is not the most important, but rather, the way in which we work out our salvation. Thus, our destination is sure. As we learn more about the Lord and understand His ways,  as we become more obedient and become more like Jesus, the Lord shall bless our walk. Thus, we become more pure and holy, and more and more acceptable to God, from justification to sanctification.

The Word English Dictionary defines "evangelical repentance" as follows:
Evangelical repentance consists of (1) a true sense of one's own guilt and sinfulness; (2) an apprehension of God's mercy in Christ; (3) an actual hatred of sin (Ps. 119:128; Job 42:5, 6; 2 Cor. 7:10) and turning from it to God; and (4) a persistent endeavour after a holy life in a walking with God in the way of his commandments. The true penitent is conscious of guilt (Ps. 51:4, 9), of pollution (51:5, 7, 10), and of helplessness (51:11; 109:21, 22). Thus he apprehends himself to be just what God has always seen him to be and declares him to be. But repentance comprehends not only such a sense of sin, but also an apprehension of mercy, without which there can be no true repentance (Ps. 51:1; 130:4).

You are not alone. All of us are on this journey. Some, (perhaps like you), are just starting, others are in the process of perfecting their faith (like me), and others are nearly there.

I encourage you to keep your head up, request as many people to pray for you as possible, to not listen to the enemy, but rather the word of God, and to persevere. God shall nor forsake you.

Blessings

Craig
