TODAY'S PRAYER
IMB
FEBRUARY 18, 2011
"Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You." (Psalm 61:1-2a)
WORLD LEADERS. "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1-2). Please pray today for President Roza Otunbaeva of Kyrgyzstan (central Asia, west of China).
SOUTH ASIAN UNENGAGED PEOPLES. On the Arabian Peninsula, not all the people are Arabs; 5 million South Asians are there! Desperate to find better-paying jobs, they have immigrated to the Arabian Peninsula for contracted work. They now have even less of an opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus than they did in their homelands. Very little work is being done to reach this huge pocket of South Asians. Please ask the Father to provide resources and to call evangelists to reach these 5 million souls living in spiritual darkness. Pray that it may be even as it was when the ascended Jesus sent Paul: "I will rescue you from the people and from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in Me" (Acts 26:17-18, HCSB). http://youradmin.imbresources.org/index.cfm/fa/ct.go/LID/39370/m/9971/sID/0903JC405AA65A52A08872541.cfm
SWAZI OF SWAZILAND (SWAH-zee). "I plan to return every year as long as I can!" These words were spoken by a volunteer team member who ministered in Swaziland in 2010. The Swazi Team is so thankful for volunteers who give of their time and money to help evangelize and disciple Swazis. On February 21 through March 3, a volunteer team from a Baptist association in North Carolina will minister in the Shiselweni region. Plans include an overnight women's retreat as well as a weekend youth retreat. Pray that the ministry of this team will touch many Swazi hearts, and that the sharing of spiritual fruit will reap great rewards. http://youradmin.imbresources.org/index.cfm/fa/ct.go/LID/39371/m/9971/sID/0903JC405AA65A52A08872541.cfm
